Dillo Interactive has opened a Steam playtest for Creepy Horrors: Blood Cult 2, an upcoming turn-based creature-collecting RPG where you command an occult cult, summon bizarre monsters, and send them into battle against rival factions. The announcement came during the October Convergence showcase, alongside a new trailer and confirmation of a console release in 2027.
Building on the universe introduced in My Little Blood Cult, this new installment takes a more traditional RPG approach, with dungeon exploration, creature progression, and tactical encounters at its core.

The full game will feature more than 100 collectible Horrors, ranging from folkloric monsters such as the Wendigo to stranger creations like the Soul Sucker and Jimothy.
Combat takes place in 3v3 turn-based battles, with players assembling a squad of six creatures before venturing into dangerous crypts. Each Horror has access to different offensive and defensive abilities, buffs, and debuffs, all tied to a resource called Blood Lust. Managing this resource becomes central to combat, especially when deciding whether to spend it on immediate attacks or save it for more powerful abilities and ultimate moves.

Another interesting element is choosing an allegiance. Players can join one of four specialized cults, each with its own combat philosophy.
Secta Daemonum favors aggressive strategies and high damage, while Secta Mortuorum specializes in durability and resistance. Secta Spirituum focuses on manipulating encounters through buffs and debuffs, and Secta Cryptidarum introduces unpredictable attacks and evasive tactics. Each faction also provides access to exclusive Horrors and relics that can influence how a team develops.

Outside combat, exploring crypts is essential for expanding your collection. These locations contain ingredients, summoning recipes, and relics that can strengthen your creatures. There’s also a particularly disturbing progression mechanic: unwanted Horrors and cult followers can be sacrificed to obtain materials for new summons and upgrades. Even creatures that no longer fit into your team can therefore contribute to its development.
The newly launched Steam playtest includes more than 20 Horrors and several crypts to explore, giving players an early opportunity to experiment with the combat system and creature customization.

Creepy Horrors: Blood Cult 2 is scheduled to launch in 2027 on PC via Steam, with SteamOS support, as well as Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Players interested in trying the game can request access to the playtest through the store page.
