Primal Fray is part creature-collector and part tactical roguelite
Primal Fray is a hex-grid roguelite tactics set for PC and consoles. The solo project from developer Tymoteusz Pietruszka will arrive on Steam alongside Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S versions, with a playable demo already available on Steam.

Set on procedurally generated flying islands, Primal Fray mixes classic turn-based positioning with run-based progression.
Players recruit a squad of “Primals,” combine buffs picked up between encounters, and push through the Rift against scripted elites and bosses. Each unit has four abilities, and the roster collectively spans more than 200 skills, creating plenty of room for synergy and counterplay.

Some abilities spend mana while others generate it, so building a lineup that sustains its own economy becomes part of the strategy.
Beyond the single-player run structure, the game supports local hot-seat PvP. Matches use mirrored maps and a balanced draft, and a chess timer keeps turns brisk. There’s also a built-in editor for crafting and sharing your own arenas.

Primal Fray is developed by Pietruszka and published by Black Lantern Collective, and is set to arrive on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
If you’ve been waiting for a compact tactics game that leans on buildcraft and short, decisive turns, this one is worth a look when it lands later this month. Below is the gameplay trailer.
