The strategy game comes from designers who previously worked on Hearthstone and The Bazaar, with a free demo available now on Steam.
Independent studio Leyline has announced Guildrun, a roguelite autobattler scheduled to launch for PC in late 2026. The project is being led by designers whose previous credits include Hearthstone and The Bazaar, and players can already sample its team-building systems through a newly released demo.

In Guildrun, mysterious rifts have opened across the world, unleashing waves of monsters into nearby cities.
Players must assemble a guild of heroes, develop their abilities, and find combinations capable of surviving increasingly dangerous encounters. Battles play out automatically, leaving recruitment, positioning, equipment, and character development as the main strategic considerations.
Heroes begin with recognizable class roles, but their development is flexible. A healer can be rebuilt as a frontline tank, for example, while a ranged damage dealer may be transformed into a close-combat fighter.

Traits, specializations, items, and relics can be combined across different characters, encouraging players to adjust their plans according to what each run provides instead of relying on a fixed party composition.
The current demo includes 25 heroes, 180 specializations, more than 300 relics, and over 100 items. Runs are designed to last approximately 20 minutes and have no timers or competitive matchmaking, allowing players to pause, save, and reconsider their decisions whenever necessary.

Successful runs gradually unlock eight difficulty levels with additional modifiers. An Endless mode will also let experienced players continue developing their parties while competing for positions on the global leaderboards.
Leyline has already been testing Guildrun through a closed alpha involving more than 3,000 participants. According to the developer, feedback from that community has helped shape the game through regular updates since testing began in January.
Guildrun is currently targeting a late 2026 release for PC. Its free demo is available through the game’s Steam page.
