The indie strategy RPG focuses on hero synergies, random exploration, and tactical Combat
Land of Ruins now has an official Steam page, giving strategy RPG fans a closer look at a fantasy adventure built around hex-based battles, random exploration, and party building. The game has been in development for six years by a two-person indie team anWoWo, and public playtest recruitment has now started.

Players put together a squad of heroes and send them into dark, procedurally generated ruins filled with enemies, equipment, rare resources, and difficult choices.
Firelight plays a key role during exploration, since it limits how much of the path ahead can be revealed.
Combat takes place on hex-based grids, with positioning, hero roles, and skill combinations shaping each encounter.

The party-building side seems to be one of the main hooks, as players recruit heroes, develop their skills and talents, and look for synergies that can carry the squad deeper into each run. Since maps, enemies, and rewards change from one adventure to the next, builds will likely need to adapt.
The roguelite structure also affects exploration. Choices made during a run can change its pace and outcome, from how quickly the party grows to what kind of threats it can handle later on. Stronger enemies wait deeper in the ruins, so pushing forward for better rewards may come with a real cost.

Land of Ruins currently supports five languages, with more classes, enemies, and gameplay systems planned for future updates. No release date has been announced yet, but the Steam page is live now, and players interested in testing the game can apply for the public playtest.
