The upcoming demo takes place five years before the main story and represents about 15 percent of the full game.
Inverse Atelier has opened sign-ups for AXERAS closed playtest of the game’s Prologue Demo, giving a small group of players the chance to try an early version before its public Steam release.

The sign-up form will stay open from May 20 to June 10, 2026. Only 20 players will be selected, and the choice will be made at random. This first test will be available in English only.
The team says the playtest is meant to help check how the game’s systems fit together. AXERAS includes several experimental ideas, and the developers want to see whether those mechanics feel clear, balanced, and readable once players get their hands on them. Feedback from this test will help shape the Prologue Demo before it reaches a wider audience.

Executive Producer Xenika also addressed the long silence from the studio. In the update, they apologized for the lack of recent communication and explained that the team has been busy working on core gameplay systems, level design, and internal playtesting.
Some parts of the game have apparently been difficult to lock down, with certain mechanics needing to be redesigned from the ground up. Inverse Atelier will use in-game analytics during the test to understand how players move through the demo and interact with its systems.
After the closed test, the Prologue Demo will launch on Steam in different language phases. The first phase will include English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. A second phase is planned for French, German, and Spanish, while Russian and Ukrainian are still to be confirmed.

The Prologue Demo will also focus on a specific part of the story. It takes place five years before the main game and follows the events that lead to the start of the Evestrian Civil War. According to the team, this section represents about 15 percent of the full game.
One thing players should not expect in the demo is the mecha shown at the end of the trailer. Inverse Atelier confirmed that it will not appear in the Prologue Demo, since that part of the story happens before the events of the main campaign.
More playtests are planned for the future. The studio also said that players who join one test will not be able to take part in the next one, so more people can get a chance over time. Those who are not selected for this first round will still be able to share feedback when the public Prologue Demo goes live, mainly through the game’s Discord server.
