Twisted Fate

Last month, the excellent Blightstone made its early access debut and is already gaining strong traction thanks to its gripping gridless combat system.

Today I’ve got another title that closely mirrors the combat style of Unfinished Pixel’s game, and it even has a demo available.

Twisted Fate

It’s called Twisted Fate, developed by Game Dynasty. At its core, it’s a tactical roguelite built around intense gridless encounters, with a heavy emphasis on environmental manipulation that looks poised to deliver deep, turn-by-turn strategic play.

You take three heroes into an expedition, then you try to reach the source of corruption while the game keeps throwing new fights and new route problems at you.

Twisted Fate

The core hook is how it treats abilities. Each hero has four abilities, and each of those abilities can be customized through modifiers.

Modifiers are meant to change how an ability behaves, then you combine effects across the party to create synergies that fit the run you are currently in. It is a system where every run can produce a different build, since the same base ability can branch depending on which modifiers you pick up and how you stack them.

Twisted Fate Events

Every expedition can roll different enemies, different random events, plus bosses that vary by region with the usual roguelite node-based maps.

Twisted Fate features artifacts as passive effects that can reshape how your party plays. Some artifacts come with a high cost, so power spikes can carry consequences that you have to manage across the run.

Twisted Fate Gameplay

On the content side, the store page lists over 80 ability modifiers, over 50 artifacts, over 35 consumable items, over 30 unique battles, plus over 25 random events that can help or hinder you.

If you want to get a feel for it before that date, there is a demo on PC via Steam, while the release date is set for March 17, 2026. Below i share the announce trailer.
