Looking for something new to play Turn By Turn!? Look no further

Here’s a recap of the February 2025 releases in the genres we’ve been covering on these pages since 2018—RPGs, strategy games, roguelites, and puzzle games—all united by one core feature: turn-based mechanics. This month, we need to gear up because the King of 4X Strategy is making its triumphant return with a new installment.

For those who aren’t drawn to pure strategy, there’s plenty of other exciting content as well. From the latest chapter in The Legend of Heroes series to indie gems you shouldn’t overlook, February promises something for everyone. I’ve gathered 13 standout titles that I think rise above the rest. As always, I’d love to hear your feedback and encourage you to share any other interesting releases you think deserve a mention.

Before diving in, a quick reminder: I’ve recently launched a Turn-Based Lovers page on Reddit. I’d love for you to follow and contribute with any relevant information, news, or even just thoughts related to turn-based games. If you’re a developer, feel free to share updates on your projects there as well. The page is still finding its structure, but we’ll shape it together as we go.

Now, let’s dive into February 2025’s most important RPGs and Strategy Games Releases.

  • Keep Driving
  • Seed of Pandora: Legend of the Gaia Tree
  • Astral Throne
  • Novus Orbis (E.A.)
  • Sid Meier’s Civilization VII
  • Oddventure
  • The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II
  • Never Second in Rome
  • The Silent Kingdom
  • Die in the Dungeon
  • Dungeonfell
  • Galactic Civilizations IV – Tales of the Arnor
  • ViCrew

Keep Driving

  • Platforms: PC
  • Release date: February 6, 2025
Keep Driving Preview

I admit I haven’t tried it yet, but everyone is saying great things about it. Keep Driving is an atmospheric management RPG that immerses players in life on the open road. Players can pick up hitchhikers, work odd jobs, customize and repair their car, and map routes across the country. The game emphasizes exploration and personal stories in a procedurally generated pixel art world.

Seed of Pandora: Legend of the Gaia Tree

  • Platforms: PC
  • Release date: February 6, 2025
Seed of Pandora: Legend of the Gaia Tree

A 16-bit SNES-style RPG that offers a fast-paced battle system and an engaging story. Then, when a JRPG showcases mechs, your mind immediately jumps to some “big” associations. Anyway, in Seed Of Pandora, players embark on an epic adventure across the continent of Pandora, meeting companions and uncovering secrets in a fully realized pixel art world. The game features beautiful anime cutscenes to enhance the storytelling experience.

Astral Throne

  • Platforms: PC
  • Release date: February 7, 2025
Astral throne SRPG

I personally tried it some time ago, and I highly recommend you give Astral Throne a shot. A strategy RPG roguelike inspired by classics like Final Fantasy Tactics and Fire Emblem, combined with modern roguelite elements. Players can expect strategic gameplay with procedurally generated challenges, offering a fresh experience with each playthrough.

Novus Orbis (E. A.)

  • Platforms: PC
  • Release date: February 10, 2025
Novus Orbis

Here’s the deckbuilding roguelite of the month, which seems to have plenty of style and some intriguing features worth talking about. Novus Orbis is a combo-based deckbuilding roguelite set in a space-time loop. Players collect cards, receive blessings, add pets to their party, and grow stronger. The game emphasizes chaining cards in the right order for maximum power and acting before enemies do. It offers a blend of deckbuilding and roguelite mechanics.

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII

  • Platforms: PC – PlayStation – Xbox – Nintendo Switch
  • Release date: February 11, 2025
Civilization VII

The latest installment in the acclaimed strategy series introduces the ability to mix and match leaders and civilizations, allowing for unique combinations and strategies. The game features three distinct ages—Antiquity, Exploration, and Modern—each with specific wonders and challenges. New mechanics, faster gameplay, and improved visuals enhance the experience. I’m really curious to see if Civ will live up to its legendary reputation once again, but I’ll leave it to you to tell me in the coming days.

Oddventure

  • Platforms: PC – Nintendo Switch
  • Release date: February 13, 2025
Oddventure

Those titles that initially appear cartoony and innocent but then reveal a raw and dark undertone are usually the ones that unsettle me the most, and Oddventure seems to promise exactly that. A lore-rich, turn-based RPG set in a cursed fairytale world. Players fight inner demons and seek a spark of hope, navigating a narrative that balances humor and darkness. The game emphasizes storytelling and character development.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak II

  • Platforms: PC – PlayStation – Nintendo Switch
  • Release date: February 14, 2025
RPGs of February 2025

Perhaps I deserve to be publicly executed for never having played a single title from the nearly endless The Legend of Heroes series, but I beg you to be merciful with me. In February the series will add another piece with Trails Through Daybreak II.

The latest entry in the long-running series continues the story with new characters and challenges. Players can expect a rich narrative, strategic combat, and a detailed world to explore. The game builds upon its predecessors with enhanced graphics and gameplay mechanics, which promises more dynamism.

Never Second in Rome

  • Platforms: PC
  • Release date: February 18, 2025
Never Second In Rome

The next one is something truly special that many might enjoy. It is called Never Second In Rome and is a turn-based historical game with RPG and management elements. Players assume the role of a Roman centurion in Julius Caesar’s army, controlling both their character and the unit under their command. The game emphasizes strategy, leadership, and historical immersion.

The Silent Kingdom (E.A.)

  • Platforms: PC
  • Release date: February 18, 2025
The Silent Kingdom JRPG

An otome RPG where players take on the role of Princess Erinys, whose realm is under a sorrowful curse. To save her kingdom, she must defy the world and the Goddess herself. The game offers a dark story with choices that matter, featuring romanceable companions and a narrative that adapts to player decisions.

Die in the Dungeon

  • Platforms: PC
  • Release date: February 21, 2025
Die in the dungeon

A dice-collecting and dungeon-crawling game where players navigate through dungeons, battling enemies using a unique dice-based combat system. The game combines strategy with roguelike elements, offering a fresh take on dungeon exploration.

Dungeonfell

  • Platforms: PC
  • Release date: February 21, 2025
Dungeonfell

Dungeonfell invites you into a treacherous roguelite world where strategy reigns supreme. Assemble a squad of unique Delvers, each with distinct abilities, and guide them through procedurally generated dungeons teeming with monsters, traps, and corruption.

You choose your routes, balance risks and rewards, and uncover the secrets within. Turn-based combat and rich team synergies with a Cosmic Delver Map offer a deep progression system to unlock skills, relics, and powerful upgrades.

Galactic Civilizations IV – Tales of the Arnor

  • Platforms: PC
  • Release date: February 27, 2025
Galactic Civilization IV New DLC

An expansion to the acclaimed 4X grand strategy game, this DLC allows players to explore the legacy of the Arnor through a new campaign. It introduces new technologies, challenges, and lore, enhancing the base game with additional depth and content.

ViCrew

  • Platforms: PC
  • Release date: February 27, 2025
ViCrew RPG Overview

In ViCrew, you lead a fearless band of four Viking warriors on raids across procedurally generated islands, plundering riches and battling formidable foes. With five distinct classes—Warrior, Archer, Druid, Seer, and Bard—you’ll craft a crew, upgrading their skills as you conquer increasingly perilous challenges.

Every mission offers fresh opportunities, thanks to randomized maps and enemy encounters, ensuring high replayability. Manage your ship, trade loot for supplies, and brace yourself for the brutal reality of permadeath—fallen warriors are lost forever.

This wraps up the February recap. I’m not sure if you found something to your liking among these, but you can let me know by reaching out to me on all my social media pages, the Discord channel, and of course, Reddit. See you next time. Bye!
