Devolver Digital and developer All Possible Futures have launched The Plucky Squire, a dimension-hopping indie adventure, now available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch for $29.99.
In this innovative mix-of-genres RPG, players control Jot, a storybook hero who jumps between the 2D pages of his world and the 3D environment of a desk to alter his fate. The game combines puzzle-solving, combat, and narrative elements, allowing players to rewrite the story and challenge the villain Humgrump. The release was accompanied by a visually striking papercraft trailer, showcasing the game’s unique charm.
The Plucky Squire follows the magical adventures of Jot and his friends – storybook characters who discover a three-dimensional world outside the pages of their book.
When the malevolent Humgrump realizes he’s the villain of the book – destined to lose his battle against the forces of good for all eternity – he kicks the heroic Jot out of its pages and changes the story forever.
