You’ve asked for it a lot, and finally here I am with an updated list of the most interesting deals focused exclusively on PlayStation and the turn-based RPGs available on Sony’s console.
PlayStation might not be known for its deals, but there are a lot of discounts to be had on the PS Store if you take the time to look.
If you’re looking for something new to play, you can usually find something with a bit of browsing. Of course, that takes time that could be spent gaming; that’s why I’ve combed through and found the best turn-based RPG deals for PlayStation this week. I was actually pretty shocked at how low some of these prices went; be sure to strike while the iron is hot!
WrestleQuest (PS4/PS5)

PlayStation has always been home to epic RPG adventures, and this game merges that tradition with the other great sagas of outlandishly-dressed warriors performing daring exploits; professional wrestling.
Wrestlequest puts you in the tights of an up-and-coming rookie adventuring through worlds inspired by the careers of legendary real-world wrestlers.
This pixelated ode to high-flying machismo is just $8.99 for either PS4 or PS5 until 28 May, letting you save 70% off the standard price of $29.99. There’s no DLC either, so you’re getting the full package all in one go.
ONE PIECE ODYSSEY Deluxe Edition (PS4/PS5)

If you’re a fan of One Piece, now is a great time to try the richly adapted spinoff adventure that sends the Straw Hats to an unfamiliar island. Even if you don’t know the anime that well, you’re still in for a treat with this JRPG that perfectly captures the strangeness and swashbuckling adventure of its namesake.
One Piece Odyssey is available on both current PS platforms, and the Deluxe Edition is 75% off via the PlayStation Store until 28 May. That takes the price down to just $14.99 from $59.99 – for less than the price of the Standard Edition ($39.99), you’ll get the full game plus an extra scenario and a bonus outfit!
Jack Move (PS4)

Cyberpunk doesn’t have to be all grit; Jack Move is a fun RPG that proves the genre can be bright and sassy while keeping its themes intact. As Noa, you’ll hack into corporate systems and engage in cyberwarfare (in the form of turn-based JRPG battles, of course) as you unravel the schemes of the Monomind corporation.
This lovely PS4 title is down to just $5.99 until 28 May, a discount of 70% from its usual $19.99 price tag… no hacking required.
Soul Hackers 2 (PS4/PS5)

If you know Atlus’ other work, namely Shin Megami Tensei, then Soul Hackers will feel familiar. Summoning demons for tense turn-based battles, you’ll explore a richly-imagined futuristic world as you fight to prevent a world-shattering apocalypse.
As its name implies, Soul Hackers 2 gives the premise a more neon-lit cyberpunk feel than the dark occult vibes of SMT.
Soul Hackers 2 is included with PlayStation Plus, but if you aren’t subscribed you can buy the Premium Edition outright at an 80% discount until 28 May. That makes the game and all the bonus outfits and extras just $17.99, a great deal considering the Premium Edition is usually $89.99.
Note that the Digital Deluxe and Standard Editions aren’t discounted, so if you get Soul Hackers 2 during this sale, Premium is the way to go.
Relayer Digital Premium Edition (PS4/PS5)

If you’re looking for some stunning space vistas and tactical mecha battles, Relayer is a gorgeous SRPG that’s only available for PS4 and PS5. Commanding a squadron of mechs in orbital showdowns, you’ll fend off an alien invasion in battles that will make you feel like you’re in a lost Gundam series!
Relayer normally has a hefty asking price of $74.99 for the Digital Premium Edition, but until 28 May the PS Store has it discounted a whopping 90%. That means you can get the game and the DLC Season Pass for just $7.49. If you already have the base game, the Season Pass is discounted on its own as well, coming in at just $1.59 while the sale is on.
Black Legend (PS4)

Gothic 17th-century tactical RPG Black Legend may have flown under the radar a bit when it first launched back in 2021, but that’s no reason you can’t enjoy it now.
Leading a squad of mercenaries into a ruined city overcome by a transformative fog, it’s you and your troops against hordes of dangerous cultists. With fifteen classes and combo-driven gameplay, there’s plenty to master in the creepy streets of Grant.
Black Legend is available for PS4 at a 60% discount until 28 May, letting you add it to your collection for $7.99 rather than $19.99. There’s no DLC, so you don’t need to worry about missing anything!
Monster Sanctuary (PS4)

Monster Sanctuary combines monster-catching turn-based battles with Metroidvania platforming and exploration. If you’ve ever wanted to do a bit more with moves like Fly and Surf, this is the game for you!
With 111 monsters, the roster is lighter than some other games, but Monster Sanctuary offers some very cool build options to keep it fresh, not to mention built-in randomizers and challenge modes… including Permadeath.
Normally priced at $19.99, Monster Sanctuary isn’t a game that’s going to break the bank on most days, but until 28 May you can get it on PS4 for just $3.99. That’s an 80% discount, and a very replayable game for less than five bucks.
Nexomon Extinction (PS4)

If you’re looking for a more traditional creature-collecting experience, but still with plenty of colorful flair, Nexomon Extinction offers nearly 400 critters to tame and battle. From rival tamerss to monstrous Tyrant Nexomon, you’ll find threats around every corner, and the game’s dynamic difficulty ensures that you’ll always have just the right amount of challenge.
Both Extinction and the original Nexomon game are 75% off in the PS Store until 28 May. You can get the first game for $2.49 (down from $9.99) and Extinction for $4.99 (down from $19.99), or get them bundled together in the Complete Collection for $6.24.
Fantasy General II Invasion (PS4)

Fantasy General II is more than just the return of a classic; it’s one of the best hex-based strategy games out there if you want to really feel like you’re commanding an army.

Disgaea 4 Complete (PS4)

You’ve probably heard of Disgaea, even if you’ve never played it. This bizarre series centers on the intrigues of the underworld, and it’s gained legions of fans through its absurd characters and deceptively smart tactical combat. The world is a weirder place with Disgaea in it, and for that we’ll always be grateful.
There are a few Disgaea titles on sale right now in the PlayStation Store, but for our money the best deal is Disgaea 4 Complete+. Normally $49.99, it’s 65% off until 28 May, taking the price down to just $17.49.
Valkyria Chronicles 4: Complete Edition (PS4)

With improved combat and a story on par with that of the legendary original, Valkyria Chronicles 4 is one of the best in the series.
It’s a must-play for fans and a great starting point for players new to the series, as you don’t need to have played any of the previous games. Plan your moves carefully and execute them with precision, because once you activate a unit, the game shifts into real-time, with you controlling them until their turn ends.
Both the Standard and Complete Editions of Valkyria Chronicles 4 are 80% off in the PS Store until 28 May, taking their prices from $29.99 to $5.99 and from $49.99 to $9.99 respectively. That extra four dollars for the Complete Edition is well worth it, as it includes the full suite of DLC, including new missions, cosmetics, and more.
Persona 5: Ultimate Edition (PS4)

Speaking of games that belong in every player’s library, Persona 5 is one of the most beloved RPGs of the century, if not of all time.
This sleek, flashy game tells the tale of the Phantom Thieves, with stylish battles, deep characters, and social link gameplay that the franchise has become famous for!
Both the Standard and Ultimate Editions of Persona 5 are discounted on the PlayStation Store until 28 May, and the Ultimate Edition is the best deal by far. At an eye-popping 85% off, its price is knocked from $84.99 all the way to $12.74. That includes everything – costumes, new Personas, and even a Merciless difficulty level for those seeking a true challenge.

This aesthetic, atmospheric tactical battler is the kind of game where you come for the cool look and stay for the absolutely absurd combos you can learn to pull off.
Your small squad will almost always be outnumbered in Othercide‘s constrained battlefields, but once you get going, it will be your foes trapped on the board with you, not the other way around.
If you’ve been waiting for Othercide to go on sale, now is your chance; the PS4 version is 85% off until 28 May, taking its price from $29.99 all the way down to $4.49. That’s the complete game, too – the only DLC is a cosmetics pack you can throw in for $3.99 if you feel so inclined.

If you’re in the mood for a fun, gorgeously-pixelated roguelite deckbuilder, For The Warp takes the beloved formula to light speed by putting you at the helm of a spaceship!
In classic roguelite fashion, you’ll pick your path and blast your way through anyone who tries to stop you as you make your way to the warp gate that will let you escape the dangerous sector.
The PlayStation Store has a great deal on For The Warp through 28 May, offering a 75% discount to take the game from $17.99 down to $4.49. PS Plus members get an extra 5% off, so if you’re subscribed you’ll only pay $3.59!
South Park: The Fractured but Whole (PS4)

For a show that started with cardboard cutouts, South Park really doesn’t do anything halfway. Both The Stick of Truth and The Fractured But Whole could have been 20-hour collections of gags, but they’re also quality RPGs with just as much to say as the long-running TV series… and also lots of gags for good measure.
The Marvel-spoofing Fractured But Whole is included with an Ubisoft+ subscription if you have one, but if not the PS4 version of the game is on sale until 28 May. At 70% off, you can get it for $8.99 instead of $29.99. The Stick of Truth isn’t currently on sale, but it is included with PS Plus Extra.
Blackguards 2 (PS4)

Blackguards offered some groundbreaking tactical combat back in the day, and while it might seem more run-of-the-mill by today’s standards this dark fantasy series is still worth a play both as a progenitor of modern games and as a fine campaign in and of itself.
The same goes for the sequel, which sees the vengeful queen Cassia teaming up with disreputable mercenaries in a quest to reclaim her throne, at any cost.
Blackguards 2 is always an affordable pick for PS4 at just $5.99, but until 28 May it’s 90% off, taking it down to just 59 cents. 59 cents! Your move, Steam.
Darkest Dungeon (PS4)

As one of the biggest indie titles of the 2010s, Darkest Dungeon has earned itself a reputation as being the sort of unforgiving game where, even if you do everything right, you can still watch your party descend into madness and death.
That reputation is earned in its entirety, and you’ll enjoy every moment of seeing the heroes you’ve hired spiral to their unfortunate ends. Better them than you, after all.
If you haven’t yet had a chance to try Darkest Dungeon, the PS4 version is just $3.74 until 28 May. That’s an 85% discount off its usual price of $24.99. Much of the DLC is discounted too, but you’ll have to get it piecemeal, as the Ancestral Edition is full price at this time.
I am Setsuna (PS4)

There are lots of RPGs that draw inspiration from Chrono Trigger, and rightly so, but I Am Setsuna sets itself apart in that it has the blessing of Square Enix.
Setsuna isn’t trying to be the next Chrono game, focusing instead on its own tragic tale, but instead uses the familiar map and battle system to evoke the feelings that come with playing the greatest JRPG of all time.
Having recently marked its tenth anniversary, I Am Setsuna is 70% off for PS4 until 28 May, knocking its price tag down from $39.99 to $11.99. It doesn’t have any DLC to worry about, either, so there’s nothing to miss.
Marvel’s Midnight Suns Digital+ Edition (PS5)

Certain recent GOTY winners aside, turn-based games aren’t generally known for taking full advantage of the PlayStation’s power.
If you’re looking for something to put your PS5 through its paces, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is about as showy a tactical RPG as you can get. With a massive roster of Marvel superheroes and a battle system designed by the team behind XCOM, this is way more than just a spinoff – it’s one of the best uses of a major IP we’ve seen in recent years.
The Digital+ Edition of Midnight Suns is 80% off for both PS4 and PS5, taking it from $79.99 down to $15.99. You’ll get some extra skins from the included Premium Pack, and as long as you get it before the sale ends (you guessed it – 28 May) it’s a far better deal than the Standard or Legendary Edition, neither of which are discounted this time around.
Warhammer Bundle – Chaos Gate & Realms of Ruin (PS4/PS5)

Chaos Gate: Daemonhunters is one of the best turn-based tactical experiences you can get in the Warhammer 40,000 universe.
Think XCOM with Space Marines, with a full campaign that requires you to defend, purify, and in all likelihood sacrifice planets to protect the greater galaxy from daemonic invasions.
Not only is the Purifier Edition of Chaos Gate 80% off for both PS4 and PS5 until 28 May – down to $9.99 from $49.99 – but it’s also offered as a bundle with Realms of Ruin, the RTS in the other Warhammer universe, Age of Sigmar. It’s not turn-based, but a bonus game is always great, especially when the bundle is 80% off, going from $$74.99 to $14.99.
