New heroes, units, abilities, and cards join the art-nouveau strategy game’s roster.
Chimera Entertainment has released the Celestial Church Expansion for Songs of Silence, and it’s now available on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store. The DLC launched on December 16, 2025, and lists at $12.99.

The expansion adds a new campaign arc set after the base game’s earlier conflict, with the studio framing it as a story about faith collapsing into an “age of Inquisition.” An inquisitor arrives in Gravina to restore order, only to get pulled into a hunt tied to heretic prophets, while Purgatories and the spreading Silence keep tightening the setting’s grip.
Celestial Church brings four new campaign chapters and introduces new characters with fully voiced dialogue. In total, the publisher-facing messaging pegs this arc at over six hours of new story content.

Multiplayer and skirmish players get the bigger mechanical injection. The DLC adds a new skirmish faction built around the Celestial Church, including two hero classes, Inquisitors and Truthweavers, with six hero vocations across them.
It also adds eight units (including Skirilith, Avowed, Esquires, Kanonists, Exarkist, and the Illumine variants like Archers, Hounds, and Exhorters), plus four unit perks and a new capital concept called the Procession, which the store description calls both the faction’s starting army and its “mobile capital.”
The faction’s toolkit expands through its card layers: five strategy cards (including two building upgrades, Confession Tower and Pyre) and five battle cards (listed as Authority, Serpentine Torrent, Silent Embrace, Illumine Flight, and Illumine Inferno).

Owners of the expansion can still match up against players who don’t own it, so the Celestial Church faction is not walled off from the wider multiplayer pool.
For anyone who hasn’t checked in since launch, Songs of Silence hit Early Access on June 4, 2024, and then reached version 1.0 on November 13, 2024. It mixes a turn-based strategic layer with real-time battles, and it supports a story campaign alongside skirmishes and scenarios.

The game features 8 campaign maps, three difficulty settings, and skirmish support built around 100+ randomized maps, with formats that include Free-for-All or co-op, for up to 6 players, plus “Fates” as modifiers. 3 factions, 13 hero classes, 113 units, 38+ artifacts, 150+ skills, and 22 locations to fight over.
Chimera also says it’s planning another expansion in mid-2026, with additional features arriving before then, and executive producer Hendrik Lesser frames the Celestial Church arc as a direct response to requests for more narrative-heavy content. Below, I share the official DLC trailer.
