The turn-based tactics roguelite heads to PC in Q1 2026 with reaction-driven combat and four demo classes.

Legacy Forge is bringing its turn-based tactics roguelite Valor of Man to PC via Steam in Q1 2026, with publisher Numskull Games highlighting an extended demo window that starts now. The team is framing it as a grand RPG combat loop condensed into runs you can finish in a sitting, with build choices that still punish sloppy planning.

Combat is built around a reaction-driven system where every attack triggers an enemy response, so a clean hit can turn into a bad trade if it opens a counter you didn’t plan for.

Steam calls it a “unique reaction mechanic” that changes the board with each attack, which puts the emphasis on sequencing, positioning, and reading enemy behavior.

The extended demo is free on Steam and runs through the end of Chapter 2 of the game’s three-act structure. Numskull says it will be available until January 7, 2026, so it’s being treated as a limited-time test drive rather than a permanent prologue.

Valor of Man uses a four-hero party and a run structure built around decision nodes, including stops that can act as a rest, a gamble, or another fight.

Battles use turn-based rules with limited action points per turn, forcing real tradeoffs: spend points on skills now, save them for items, or set up a turn that pays off two rounds later. That action-point pressure is what makes the reaction system sting, because every commitment carries a reply.

Progression leans on synergies between abilities, gear, and artifacts. The full game promises 300+ abilities, 290 items, and 170 artifacts, plus 50+ enemies and nine boss fights, with 10 difficulty levels listed as Valor difficulties.

The full release is still marked as “Coming soon” on Steam, with the Q1 2026 window coming from Numskull’s announcement.
