Death Ring:Second Impact Overview

Starved for fresh mecha tactics? Death Ring: Second Impact just pushed its biggest Early Access update yet.

Rouge Mecha has rolled out Act III: Into the Death Ring, a content drop that adds a full new chapter, a mecha paint system, and a slate of balance changes aimed at widening viable builds. The update is live now on Steam as version 0.6.0.

Death Ring Second Impact

Act III sends the Griffin Squad inside the Primal Death Ring, where mission maps chain together across hostile biomes with new rules to play around. Cryo zones slow mech movement and toughen up local creatures, while volcanic rifts pelt the field with eruptions, and “Overheat” softens defenses.

The chapter culminates with Zeramorph, a new boss built to pressure both positioning and resource management.

Along the way, you’ll escort scientists extracting “Catalyst Zero,” defend objectives under environmental stress, and pick routes through dozens of handcrafted scenarios with unique mechanics.

Squad options expand too. Antey, a heavy frame from the Siberian Manufacturing Group, joins the hangar as a breakthrough specialist, and a wave of new loadouts and modules lands across the roster.

The update also introduces mech paint customization, letting you set squad colors instead of running stock schemes. Rouge Mecha says broad balance passes accompany the content to keep the variety high.

The studio will show the new build at Tokyo Game Show 2025, giving attendees a hands-on with Act III between September 25 and 28 in Chiba.

For everyone else, the update is available today in the PC Early Access version on Steam, where Death Ring: Second Impact has been in the wild since July 11, 2025. Below are more details about the base game and trailer.

Customize Your Mecha Squad

Choose from tons of loadouts and fully arm your mecha squad. Each loadout offers a unique combat style and method of attack. Certain combinations even unlock Synergy Skills.

Endless Mechanic Combinations

Pick from hundreds of unique modules and assemble them to forge a combat style that’s truly your own. Whether it’s ruthless firebringer, agile striker, or combat engineer, the way you fight is defined by how you assemble.

What if you’re lucky enough to find a growth-type module in early game and slot it into your command panel which affects all the mechs…

Engage in Dynamic Events and Combat Maps

Experience various events across different disaster stages, building your understanding of the pilots and uncovering the dark secrets behind the Death Ring. Complete missions such as decapitation, evacuation, defense, and mining to earn rewards that can change the fate of cities.

Fight the Monster Horde

Face terrifying creatures like the vengeful Acid Lizard, explosive Poison Frog, and spiked Shiver Princer. Utilize your mecha squad’s plan strategies, like raiding enemy backlines, causing chaos among elite monsters, and unleashing group bombardments to succeed. Every choice could be the key to humanity’s survival.
