Blood will begin flowing through the monochrome world of Ex Sanguis on September 10, 2026, when Lightbulb Crew’s tactical roguelite enters Steam Early Access. The studio behind Othercide confirmed the revised release date alongside a new trailer, while also restoring the playable demo for Six One Indie Demo Days.
Built around timeline manipulation, environmental interactions, and squad-based turn-based battles, Ex Sanguis follows the Stillae as they fight to bring life back to a world consumed by stillness.

Combat revolves around manipulating the timeline with abilities that can accelerate or delay combatants, as well as exchange their positions in the turn order. These effects allow players to interrupt enemy plans, combine attacks, and determine which characters act at key moments.
Environmental interaction also plays important roles. Objects can be destroyed or ignited, pathways can be blocked, and enemies can be moved through knockbacks and other forced-positioning effects. Flanking, unit facing, line of sight, and damage-over-time abilities provide additional options for controlling encounters.

Outside combat, players choose their route across a branching map. More dangerous missions offer greater potential rewards, while alternative paths allow squads to collect resources and prepare before confronting major enemies. Standard missions become increasingly difficult as players travel toward the map’s outer areas.
Its roguelite progression system carries selected improvements between attempts, unlocking additional powers and customization options following both victories and failed expeditions. Players can also rename the Stillae, adjust their equipment, and recover memories that reveal more about the world and its inhabitants.
Ex Sanguis launches in Steam Early Access on September 10, 2026. Its demo is currently available again on Steam as part of Six One Indie Demo Days.
