Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave

The next chapter in the Fire Emblem series is almost here, launching this September on Nintendo Switch 2, but the latest Nintendo Direct has heightened the excitement even further, revealing a wealth of new details about Fortune’s Weave, confirming the tactical RPG will launch on September 17, 2026.

New Fire Emblem Game of 2026

The story follows four protagonists competing in the Heroic Games, a tournament whose winner will have a wish granted. Each character has a separate storyline, but players can switch between their campaigns and progress through all four narratives. Their past actions will influence a future conflict involving the resurrected demon god Balor.

Between battles, players can explore the capital of Dagsion, train units, purchase and upgrade equipment, complete quests, recruit allies, improve relationships, and attempt certification exams to unlock new classes.

Traveling across the world map consumes time, adding a planning element before each tournament match.

Combat retains the series’ grid-based, turn-based structure while introducing Blaze Arts, powerful abilities exclusive to the main heroes. These techniques consume health and fill a Blaze Gauge, providing temporary bonuses but imposing penalties when overused. Players can also rewind previous actions through Fortuna’s Blessing and use the Joy-Con 2 mouse controls to manage units and menus.
