After introducing new dungeons and horses, Eternal Vigilance Entertainment has rolled out a major new update for The Adventurers, bringing long-awaited late-game mechanics to its growing tactical RPG.
Dubbed Fort Threats, the update is now live on the main branch, and while originally intended for a longer soak period in beta, it was expedited to address a critical save bug that caused crashes and data corruption during world map travel.

This patch introduces an entirely new layer to Fort Management. Players can now send their troops from their home fort to launch attacks on enemy strongholds. The system requires a minimum of ten units and allows adventurers to join the expedition, providing stat bonuses based on their level, though the risk is significant, as adventurers can be permanently lost.
Armies move in real time across the world map, with banners visible in the UI, and can be recalled at any time, though doing so may still result in casualties.

The update also sets the groundwork for dynamic fort-to-fort warfare. In its current state, players can still attack manually, but that method will soon be retired. Forts will become more autonomous in both defense and offense, with enemy factions eventually sending forces to target player-held territories. The type of enemy fort (goblin, demon, etc.) influences its army’s strength, and leaving a fort unattended will allow it to grow in power over time.
Additional features include new mechanics for fort rosters, troop deployment, and adventurer risk-reward tradeoffs. Some components, like additional balancing and safety measures for deployed adventurers, will be patched in over the coming days.

The Adventurers remains in Early Access and continues to evolve with feedback from its community. With its latest update, the game edges closer to realizing its vision of an open-world tactical RPG where strategic decisions ripple across every layer of gameplay. Below is the latest trailer.
