Resolution Games has confirmed that GrimKeep, its turn-based roguelite built around dice instead of cards, will launch on November 30, 2026, for Windows and macOS via Steam and PlayStation 5, priced at $14.99. A playable Steam demo is also available now ahead of the game’s appearance during Steam Next Fest, running October 19-26.

The core idea behind GrimKeep is familiar to anyone who plays roguelite deckbuilders, but the way builds are constructed is quite different. Instead of assembling a deck and drawing cards, you gradually shape a bag of dice by adding new ones, upgrading useful options, and removing dice that lower your odds of getting the combinations you want.
Combat then revolves around turning those rolls into poker-style combinations, with stronger setups producing increasingly powerful attacks. Items and hero abilities add further layers to the system, so a run becomes a process of manipulating probability, finding synergies, and deciding how far you want to push a particular build.

All of this takes place during a journey through a cursed city leading toward the castle at its center. The destination may sound like the start of a familiar rescue story, but GrimKeep has a different plan for its Princess: you are heading there to kill her.
Runs are completely self-contained and turn-based, with their length depending heavily on how far you progress and how much time you spend optimizing your setup. Resolution Games says a run can fit into a short session or stretch across one to three hours, making the structure suitable both for quick attempts and longer evenings spent experimenting with combinations.

The full release should also leave plenty of room for that experimentation. GrimKeep is planned to include seven playable heroes, seven dice types, 30 unlockable hero skills, more than 200 items, and over 60 different monsters. The presentation leans heavily into dark fantasy and Lovecraftian horror, using a hand-drawn 2D art style directed by Henrik Pettersson, formerly Game Director on Minecraft Dungeons, alongside Creative Lead David Filipe.
GrimKeep began as a small internal project at Resolution Games before developing into a full commercial release. The studio is also behind titles including Demeo, Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked, and Blaston.

The GrimKeep demo is now available on Steam, giving us the first chance to see how its dice-building concept works in practice. The full game arrives on November 30 for Windows and macOS through Steam and for PlayStation 5, at $14.99 USD.
