Beginning with a major reveal during the Xbox Games Showcase 2026, ATLUS confirmed Persona 6 and released a date for the launch of their full remake of Persona 4.
Announcing two major pieces of information for the Persona franchise, Persona 6 is officially a go, and will represent the next numbered installment of the RPG series. Additionally, ATLUS revealed that the launch date for Persona 4 Revival will take place on February 18th, 2027.
As far as specifics regarding Persona 6 are concerned, ATLUS is being somewhat tight-lipped on all fronts (release window, gameplay, etc.), stating that they “are excited to share” additional information on the development process of Persona 6.
Following the successful releases of Persona 5 in Japan (in 2016), followed by releases in Western countries (in 2017), subsequent releases (such as the addition of Persona 5 Royal, as well as the spin-off titles; Persona 5 Strikers, and Persona 5 Tactica), and finally rebuilding the original Persona 3 with Persona 3 Reload, a new mainline title represents a substantial opportunity for the series’ continued growth.
Not simply as another sequel in a series known for its social systems, daily life mechanics, dungeon crawls, and unique aesthetic, but rather a significant milestone in testing the limits of what fans expect from the series.
In contrast to the more abstract nature of the Persona 6 announcement, Persona 4 Revival is a much more tangible piece of news. The remake will launch on February 18th, 2027 for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox on PC, PS5, and Steam.
As part of its initial launch, the game will also be playable via Day One on both Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Furthermore, Xbox Play Anywhere Support will be enabled, allowing users to play across platforms.
Preorders for the Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox on PC versions are currently available online. While preorders for both PS5 and Steam will begin one day later.
Persona 4 Revival is intended to serve as a fully revamped version of the original RPG experience. This includes updated graphics and visuals, an improved gaming experience including better gameplay, as well as enhanced modernized presentation. Additionally, there will be Quality-of-Life updates added to enhance the overall player experience.
As such, while the core premise of the story remains intact; that is, when a young transfer student moves to Inaba and quickly finds himself drawn into an investigation into a series of bizarre murders; rumors surrounding a mysterious television channel; and ultimately discovers an alternate realm; the way he and his friends navigate this mystery (through exploring their daily lives while battling monsters known as shadows) will remain intact.
ATLUS also confirmed a live broadcast titled the “Persona 4 Revival Broadcast LiveStream”, scheduled to occur on June 18th at 4 pm PT / 7 pm ET.
The event will provide more information from Kazuhisa Wada (Director at P-Studio) about the upcoming remake. This event will occur simultaneously on the official ATLUS West YouTube Channel and Steam. Below the teaser trailer for Persona 6.
