The developers behind Kingsense really know how to set the scene. This slick-looking, futuristic tactical RPG takes place in the distant future, after humanity has endured a catastrophic asteroid strike and a long and bloody underground war between the three surviving factions of mankind.
In terms of gameplay, Kingsense – which you can pre-register for now – sees you getting into tactical battles on a 5×9 grid. These battles are squad-based, and you form your teams from 40 different Sensates with six different jobs and six different elemental affinities.
Each and every one of these Sensates has their own unique personality, as well as their own strengths and weaknesses in battle, and their own unique gear items. They can all be levelled up, too.
As you can imagine, that all makes for a huge amount of tactical depth, with virtually unlimited configurations at your disposal. Kingsense looks like a rich RPG experience.
It’s shaping up to be a rich narrative experience as well, with a protagonist who has dual personalities, resulting in two branching plotlines. This story is brought to life by a stellar line-up of well-known voice actors, including Satomi Akasaka, Yui Ishikawa, and Onitou Akari.
These factions are the United Council, which looks after what remains of the human race; the P.T.H. Group, which has a stranglehold on the world’s scientific and technical know-how; and the Kluto Order, which is a generally shifty bunch.

The war came about following the creation of the Sensates, a new amped-up breed of superhumans. And while the war is over, a new crisis has emerged. It’s up to you and your Sensate army to stop the coming disaster.
We think Kingsense could turn out to be one of the most exciting tactical RPGs of 2021, and you can pre-register for it right now on the game’s official site. There’s a special pre-launch Team Hack Event, allowing you to win Hacking Chips, an SR Soga characters, Crystals, and more.
Kingsense doesn’t have a release date yet, but you can stay up to date by following it on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and Discord.
