Publisher The Arcade Crew and developer Ishtar Games have unveiled the first downloadable content (DLC) for the strategy RPG The Last Spell, titled “Dwarves of Runenberg”. This new expansion is set to release on April 24 for PC via Steam and GOG, with details about its availability on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Switch to be announced later.
Key Features of the DLC:
1. New Playable Race – Dwarves:
- Unique Abilities: The Dwarves come with distinct racial perks, enhancing gameplay. Abilities include “Warcry,” which boosts allies’ combat efficiency as the Dwarf takes damage; “Look at my Muscles,” which presumably increases endurance; and “Emergency Tunnel,” providing a tactical retreat option.
- Role in Combat: These sturdy and ferocious warriors excel in the front lines, ready to dive headlong into or swiftly out of battle.
2. New Map – Runenberg:
- Dynamic Environment: The map features strategic elements like Runestones, which players can use to gain tactical advantages in battles.
- Ancient Threats: Players will encounter spirits of long-gone Dwarves and face new enemy types, including the troublesome Harplings.
3. New Weapons and Trinkets:
- Weapons: Includes the War Shield, Cannon, and Gauntlet, each introducing a new play style. These weapons are designed to complement the aggressive nature of Dwarves, with capabilities ranging from absorbing damage to dealing explosive area effects.
- Trinkets: Over 10 new trinkets are introduced, offering perks such as “Collateral Damage,” which punishes enemies for dodging, and “Earthquake Strike,” which stuns adjacent foes.
4. Free Update Features:
- Weapon Selection: Players can choose their starting weapons at the beginning of their run, allowing for customized play styles.
- Old Medals: A new trinket type utilizing Tier 4 and Tier 5 Perks to enhance characters further.

The Last Spell is a roguelite tactical RPG where players defend the last bastion of humanity against hordes of monsters.
