Chinese studio San San Er Chuan has announced On the Edge, a turn-based Wuxia RPG coming to PC. A release date has not been shared yet.

On The Edge

The game is set in the same world as the On the Edge animation, known in Chinese as Zhen Dao Ge or 枕刀歌.

It is built in Unreal Engine 5 by the same production team behind the animated series. The setup uses a new protagonist with an original story, but it stays connected to characters from the animation and leans into classic Wuxia themes and aesthetics.

San San Er Chuan is positioning it as a premium, buy-to-play project, with a 3D, realistic look and a spectacular turn-based structure. The reveal footage focuses on choreographed martial arts action during turn exchanges, pushing for the kind of kinetic screen presence you usually see in action games, just paced out through RPG turns.

Development began in the first half of 2025, and the project is still early. The game and the animation sit in the same setting, but different timelines, and the two stories are meant to work independently. Information is limited, but in the meantime, you can review the announcement trailer.
