The main focus of this DLC is the twelve versions of dreadweavers that embody twelve different fears. Each version has unique mechanics in which will test how well you understand your current strategies.

For example, when battling the wicked puppets, they need to be defeated at the same time so that no other puppets will resurrect the ones already killed by the player. When facing the Wicked Deadwood, all units will be locked down on the battlefield and therefore players will have to utilize range or find some type of alternative way to accomplish what they want.

Players will encounter each of these enemies throughout various districts. After defeating them, they disappear forever and do not respawn. This makes each kill unique, not just a repeated means of gathering loot.

As part of the story-line, there is an enigmatic alchemist named serpent Apothecary. Players can collect the Hearts of the defeated dreadweaver’s and give those to serpent Apothecary, allowing the player to upgrade his Hideout. The available upgrades include new ways to revive fallen team members, better equipment, and stronger team member stats before leaving to go on another expedition.

Additionally, each of the 12 monsters will drop a special piece of legendary gear made from their body parts. These pieces allow for some very interesting and creative uses for a character build or combination of characters.

The standalone questline also delves into the origin of each Fear behind the creation of these monsters and slowly reveals their stories as the player continues to speak with serpent Apothecary.
