The fantasy mercenary sandbox expands beyond its demo with 14 additional enemy factions, 10 more recruitable races, and uncapped unit progression.
This tactical turn-based role-playing game, developed by SC Strategy Games (a solo developer), has been in demo mode since earlier this year and was featured in my article on promising upcoming Battle Brothers-like strategy games.

In demo mode, players have had the chance to play through about 20% of what they can expect from the fully completed version. This includes being able to progress a single company to a maximum of Level 2, and having no limits placed on individual units.
When Mercenary Brotherhood enters early access on October 30th, you’ll be able to advance your companies to a maximum of Level 10, and there won’t be a limit on how high your individual units can grow. These changes allow for even more of the game’s content to be unlocked for you.
In addition to many new recruits joining your company, Mercenary Brotherhood will now feature 14 new enemy factions compared to the demo. Each of those new factions will unlock their own new units as you advance your company. Therefore, as your company progresses through the game, you’ll encounter a wider variety of enemies to fight against.

Recruitment is also much expanded upon. In addition to ten new racial types (including minotaurs and wraithkin) bringing their own approach to combat, nearly eighty new background types provide different starting points for your mercenaries’ skills, strengths, and weaknesses.
As your company advances through the game, magic gear will begin appearing more frequently. With that increase comes the availability of higher-tier gear such as epic, legendary and ascendent items. All of these have additional effects or magical properties. As well, there will be named artifacts (predefined pieces of particularly powerful equipment). Once equipped, each piece will get stronger as your company continues to grow.

The goal here is to make finding gear that fits your mercenaries’ abilities as important to growing your team as advancing your company itself.
The estimate for the length of time in Early Access is approximately six months. The major focus for that period will include continued balance tweaking, improved interfaces, and visually enhanced elements. Beyond that, the developer is looking into adding additional dynamic world events and/or more emergent storytelling elements. They’re also considering adding new spells and/or skills. The early access launch date is October 30, 2026, on PC via Steam.
