Fangs & Forges is a game I’ve been following for a long time now and few hours ago has kicked off its crowdfunding push.
Alpenwolf Studio launched the game’s Kickstarter, confirming a closed beta for backers, a new Collector’s Set reward tier, and continued focus on polishing the playable demo already on Steam.
The campaign page is live now, with the studio promoting early-bird offers and inviting players to try the demo before pledging.

The pitch is a tactical, turn-based RPG with a card-game layer, set in the high-fantasy world of Lyboria.
You lead a growing squad, recruiting from more than 120 unique characters, and take on contracts that range from monster hunts to bandit raids. Battles are designed to be quick and readable rather than marathon encounters, with rewards feeding back into squad building and exploration across varied biomes.
The demo remains available on Steam and has drawn positive early feedback. The Kickstarter is intended to fund a closed beta that starts after the campaign ends and runs up to Early Access, which is currently targeted for around Q2 2026.

The plan is to spend about a year in Early Access before releasing a 1.0 version in 2027, subject to change. The latest community and interview notes are aligned on that sequence, and today’s news post reinforces that closed-beta access will come through select backer tiers.
As for rewards, the campaign introduces a Collector’s Set option. While the studio hasn’t laid out every item in the Steam news teaser, the Kickstarter description references high-end tiers that include the full Collector’s Set rewards and add design-a-thing perks, such as creating an item or an NPC, on top.
There’s also a limited Become a Character opportunity highlighted in recent coverage, letting backers appear in-game. Expect the usual digital tiers alongside these physical or bespoke options.

Core game details stay grounded in a PvE focus and a campaign that mixes exploration with contract-driven missions, and a planned horde score mode.
The campaign is now underway and, at the time of writing, is scheduled to run into mid-October; the Kickstarter page lists the deadline as October 16, 2025.
If you’re curious, the best path is to try the demo and then browse the reward tiers to see whether closed-beta access or the Collector’s Set fits what you want. You can also wishlist the main game on Steam to follow development through the beta and the 2026 Early Access phase.
