Revelatio

One of my past Weekly Recaps featured Revelatio, a game that undeniably stands out for its striking visual style. With its dark tones, the game places you in the shoes of evil itself, tasked with corrupting everything around you—including the enemies you face, the bosses, and the NPCs in the game world.

Revelatio

I got the chance to try it about a month ago, and I found it quite enjoyable. Since then, a lot has been added in its early access phase, and in just a few days, Revelatio is set to reveal its 1.0 release on PC. At its core, it’s a roguelite with a tactical combat system. You’ll be able to summon creatures and enemies that you’ve converted to your cause, leveraging their unique abilities on relatively tight maps.

The game features the classic node-based path progression typical of roguelikes, along with meta-progression to unlock new content after each run. A demo is available on Steam, and below, you’ll find an overview, some screenshots, and the latest trailer.

About Revelatio

On the night when the crimson star embroidered the black sky, you were born as the primal darkness, the very first blasphemy. Inside a world full of holiness, you possess the power to corrupt light into darkness. Corrupt the divine forces opposing you, and construct your own dominion.

Strategic Combat
“Revelatio” is a turn-based strategy game that combines tile-based combat and elements of roguelike. Strategically summon and control units to claim victory.

Faith
The core of this game lies in the faith system, where enemies can be corrupted and converted into the player’s units. Corrupt various units, NPCs and even the final boss of the game, and turn them into your faithful followers.

Stigmata
The protagonist can bestow powerful traits called “stigmata” upon allied units. Strategically combine units with different stigmata to build a powerful army.

New Game Plus Elements
After each game, players can choose one unit to register in the Divine Hall. Units registered in the Divine Hall become your eternal follower and can be summoned in subsequent games. Also, stages and maps appear randomly each time. Additionally, players can unlock new characters with unique skills and new stigmata at the sanctum.
