Knock On The Coffin Lid Is Finally Available On PC
Released just a few hours ago on PC, Knock On The Coffin Lid is a stylish deckbuilding roguelite developed by the indie studio RedBoon, which puts players in the shoes of three characters brought back to life for a mysterious purpose.
After a lengthy development phase, players can finally dive into this dark fantasy world populated by elves, dwarves, and various monsters, all well-represented with impactful graphical style. The game offers very solid mechanics that remain firmly rooted in the genre to which it belongs, yet everything seems perfectly crafted, balanced, and fun.
After choosing a character—initially, there’s only Persival, but the other two are unlocked later—the player will navigate a map composed of the classic nodes corresponding to events, battles, shops, and rest points. The combat, reminiscent of Slay The Spire, allows players to add companions encountered along the way to their team; these companions, such as bandits and freed slaves, will operate independently during combat.
Another notable aspect is the presence of various items and equipment. Players will find consumables of different types, such as potions and antidotes, as well as trinkets that grant various bonuses. However, what stands out most in Knock On The Coffin Lid are the equipment slots and different sets that, depending on how many items from a particular set a player possesses, unlock various bonuses—a feature I always appreciate in a video game.
The graphical style and well-crafted user interface are also highlights, with many events offering a wide range of resolution options. From the few hours I’ve spent with Knock On The Coffin Lid, I can say that this is a roguelite that genre enthusiasts, and even those outside the genre, shouldn’t miss. About This Game
