Bloodgrounds New Demo

I’m kicking off the week with one of the many new demos hitting Steam in the days leading up to the October Next Fest. This one’s for Bloodgrounds, one of the most promising titles out there, which just released a brand-new demo a few hours ago.

Bloodgrounds Combat System

Daedalic Entertainment and Exordium Games have pushed Bloodgrounds back into the spotlight with a sizable demo update on Steam, a fresh gameplay trailer, and a firm Early Access date.

The new demo adds a new class, additional abilities and weapons, new locations, and expanded language support.

Bloodgrounds is a turn-based gladiator roguelite that mixes tactical combat, management, and progression in equal measure. Players step into the role of a lanista, a gladiator trainer and arena master, tasked with building a team of warriors to fight for glory in a brutal, procedurally generated world.

Each encounter plays out on a grid-based battlefield, where movement, positioning, and ability timing decide who survives.

Between matches, you manage a growing gladiator school: constructing buildings, crafting weapons, hiring new fighters, and keeping morale high. Every gladiator has unique stats, traits, and abilities that evolve over time, but death is permanent, losing a seasoned fighter means losing hard-earned gear and skills.

The game blends city-building with turn-based combat and roguelite elements, so every campaign plays differently, forcing players to balance short-term survival with long-term growth.

The developer shared a new trailer that focuses on the game’s core loop: grid-based, turn-based arena fights tied to a management layer where you recruit, train, heal, and equip gladiators, then invest winnings into buildings that unlock further systems.

The updated demo is pitched as a proper slice of the campaign. Players can sample the first five hours, access the entire first Age and beyond, field seven gladiator classes with up to five abilities per class, and level recruits to 7 while unlocking new buildings and locations. Itemization includes Common, Rare, and Epic drops to gear up fighters for tougher brackets.

Exordium and Daedalic also dated the Early Access launch for November 5, 2025, with a 1.0 release planned in early 2026 on PC via Steam.

For a hands-on look, I’ve shared the new trailer below. The demo is now available for download on Steam, and you can find another 12-minute trailer here, which provides more details.
