I really needed some fresh news to beat the stifling heat of the past few days. Just a few minutes ago, Paraside: Duality Unbound was announced, and it seems to be one of the most intriguing things I’ve read in a while. Let me share some details.
First of all, the game is developed by Mistold Games, which appears to be their debut title, but the premise is anything but ordinary. The game is set in a fantasy apocalyptic world, which in itself isn’t groundbreaking. However, when you introduce a cosmic threat and the ability to manipulate reality and space to gain an edge over eldritch creatures, things start to get interesting.
There are actually a ton of intriguing elements here. It’s an open world to explore, featuring an XCOM-style base where you can conduct research, upgrade infrastructure to unlock new features, and recruit new members for grid-based battles reminiscent of Into The Breach. In these battles, players can literally flip the map to manipulate and use the blocks for a strategic advantage against enemies.
