The Caligula Effect Overdose

NIS America has exciting news for fans of The Caligula Effect: Overdose, as the popular RPG is getting a PlayStation 5 edition in 2023. Originally developed for the PS Vita, Overdose is a full remake of the game, which was designed to bring the developers’ vision to life. The enhanced edition was released in the West in 2019 for PlayStation 4, PC, and Switch, and has since become a fan favorite.

The game’s story revolves around a group of characters trying to escape from a false reality that provides them with security and happiness. The protagonist discovers the truth and forms the Go-Home Club with other students to free themselves and their friends from the virtual world.

As a turn-based RPG, The Caligula Effect: Overdose features a unique “Imaginary Chain” system that allows players to coordinate characters’ actions and timing, predicting trajectories and combo effects before making their moves. With over 500 characters available for recruitment and battles, players will have plenty of options to help others break free from the falsity of the world.

The Overdose edition also includes an option to betray the Go-Home Club, offering extra stories focused on the Ostinato Musicians, the game’s villains, and allowing players to side with them during the final moments of the story. Additionally, the female version of the protagonist was not available in the original Vita version.

If you pre-order The Caligula Effect: Overdose from NIS America’s storefront, you will receive an exclusive 5-art card set as a bonus.
