A title I’ve been keeping an eye on for a while but haven’t tried yet, though a major update in recent days might mean the time has come. I’m talking about Skygard Arena, a tactical RPG with a strong focus on PvP.

Developed and published by Gemelli Games, this turn-based skirmish game launched in Early Access in November 2024, and development hasn’t slowed down since then.
In Skygard Arena, you’ll pick a team of three champions and a persona for each, allowing for a huge range of tactical options, with never-ending possible team compositions available. The game offers both a single-player campaign and online PvP modes.
Each champion has a unique set of abilities and a specific role, making positioning and timing crucial. Movement abilities and dash spells help secure advantageous angles for attacks, while collectible orbs scattered across maps can charge devastating ultimate moves.

The campaign itself delivers three chapters with 13 distinct missions, ranging from objective captures and infiltration to boss fights and base-defense scenarios. Meanwhile, online PvP lets you test your strategies in ranked or casual matches across five different maps.
The recent Quests Major Update further deepens the campaign experience. New optional objectives have been added to every mission, challenging players to adapt their strategies and experiment with new combinations.
This update also improves campaign flow, making it clearer which relics and personas work best for specific objectives. Several late-game missions received adjustments as well, making the experience more balanced across its various difficulty levels.

While still in Early Access, Skygard Arena already delivers a polished and challenging tactical experience. The team at Gemelli Games is relying heavily on player feedback to refine its mechanics, balance its roster, and introduce new champions and multiplayer maps.
According to the developers, the final version will feature a total of ten playable champions, new single-player quests, and additional multiplayer arenas.
Skygard Arena is available in early access on PC via Steam, and below you can find our overview video about the game.
