Announced a few hours ago, the game begins in a newly occupied house whose previous tenant has left behind belongings and a warning to avoid the basement. Going downstairs reveals an ever-changing dungeon inhabited by demons, skeletons, bats, and other hostile creatures, with successive floors leading further beneath the property.

Combat plays out automatically, using your selected skills alongside items strategically positioned around each room.

Bombs, spells, traps, and summons support those abilities, putting the emphasis on skill selection and preparation. The three characters revealed so far approach encounters differently: Blake switches between melee combat and magic, Rory uses blood magic and critical-hit bonuses, and Lou relies on shadows and poison.

Character choice therefore establishes an initial combat specialization, while the skills acquired during an expedition provide further ways to develop that setup.

Progression happens during each descent, with level-ups letting you upgrade existing skills and unlock new abilities. Deeper floors promise more powerful rewards, but continuing also means postponing the chance to secure what you have already collected.

Extracting lets you deposit loot in an upstairs storage box for future use. Recoverable equipment includes swords, knives, wands, shields, armor, rings, and amulets. The Steam description also warns that basement access points are fragile and may not remain available after use, adding another consideration to the decision to continue exploring or return upstairs.

Morrish is developing the game solo, with his previous work also including Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe and UFO: Unidentified Falling Objects.Morrish

The setting includes blood, gore, and occasional body horror, while the basement’s changing layout and unknown depth form part of its mystery. Bad House is scheduled for PC via Steam in 2027, with no specific release date announced.
