Soulscape 2: Fragments of the Present

At first glance, Soulscape2: Fragments of the Present practically screams Mass Effect, though that may just be the initial impression.

Still, Hexonine Games’ title shares plenty with the celebrated RPG, featuring branching dialogue choices, romance options with party members and NPCs, and stylish neo-futuristic environments.

Combat system

Soulscape 2: Fragments of the Present is a story-driven CRPG that thrusts you into Union Spire’s neon-soaked streets circa 2194.

You’ll guide ex-operative Blake Turner and a hand-picked squad across isometric maps, hacking terminals one moment, diving into tense turn-based combat against Cyberpulse’s mechanized enforcers the next.

From what I saw in the trailer (linked at the end of the article), the combat system feels solidly old-school, with menu options to attack, cast spells, unleash techniques, and use items against both human foes and hulking robots. It also looks like there are squad-based actions, combos, and similar team moves to mix things up.

Branching Dialogues

Between battles, classic point-and-click exploration lets you scour grungy bars and high-security labs for intel, hidden gear, and the haunting Blake’s fractured psyche.

Where the game truly shines is its branching narrative web. Dialogue trees respond to your moral compass, shaping romances, rivalries, and ultimately, one of several endings.

Choices ripple through richly cinematic cutscenes, while deep customization options let you tweak each party member’s skill grid and cyber-mods to fit your preferred playstyle.

Soulscape 2 is still in development with no release date yet. The team is preparing an early test build that should roll out soon, so be sure to add this narrative RPG to your Steam wishlist to support the developers.

Below you’ll find more details and a trailer highlighting gameplay sequences, the combat system, and exploration.
