I’ve always been fascinated by first-person dungeon crawlers, and the one I’m presenting today is indeed an RPG where first-person exploration takes center stage but with a slightly different combat system. It’s called Dice’n Goblins, and it’s developed by Tsukumogami Software.
In Dice ‘n Goblins, players dive into a labyrinthine dungeon as Gobby, a plucky goblin determined to escape the ever-expanding depths. This dungeon-crawler RPG combines strategic turn-based combat with the unpredictability of dice rolls, challenging players to outwit both monsters and humans alike. Each level offers unique vertical challenges and an array of traps, ensuring that exploration is as thrilling as the battles. With grid-based movement, players can walk, jump, swim, and navigate stairs, encountering a colorful cast of characters who may become allies or adversaries.
Combat in Dice ‘n Goblins revolves around a dynamic dice system where luck plays a role, but strategy reigns supreme. Players must craft powerful combos by skillfully using their dice rolls and special abilities, making every encounter a test of wits and resourcefulness. As they progress, players can loot chests for new dice, trade with merchants, and continuously upgrade their dice pool to adapt to the dungeon’s ever-changing challenges.
