BTrain Studio has confirmed that Grey Heritage: Noble Duty, the next entry in the studio’s strategy RPG series, will launch in September. The title serves as a prequel to Grey Heritage: Faded Vision and takes players back a decade before the events of the first game.

Set in the year 755, the story follows Jaden Ricard, Lord of Astrea, who finds himself accused of treason after the continent falls under the control of Emperor Augustus.
Forced to abandon his homeland, Jaden begins a journey to gather allies, restore his honor, and fulfill his duty to his people. The campaign is designed to run between ten and fifteen hours and features ten playable characters, each with their own role within the story.
Gameplay follows the traditional tactical RPG structure, with grid-based combat and emphasis on positioning, critical strikes, and status effects.

Unlike many games in the genre, Grey Heritage: Noble Duty avoids permadeath, offering checkpoint saves and options to rewind actions during battles. Outside of combat, players can manage resources at their base, handle inventory, and build bonds between characters.
A demo published in 2024 provided the first three chapters and introduced players to the game’s mechanics, allowing feedback to shape development ahead of full release.
Grey Heritage: Noble Duty will arrive with a launch trailer highlighting its anime-inspired visual style and medieval fantasy setting.

For players interested in the background of the series, the game’s position as a prequel makes it a standalone entry, intended to be approachable without prior knowledge of Faded Vision.
Noble Duty will launch on September 15, 2025, for PC via Steam. Below the release date trailer and details from the store page.
