Fenyx Digital, an indie studio based in Ontario, has officially announced Lotus: Lost Memories, a 2D pixel-art turn-based visual novel set in a war-torn, alternate-history Feudal Japan. Blending emotional storytelling with turn-based combat, the game is set to launch on Steam with a free public demo debuting during the SNF Festival, June 9–16, 2025.
Lotus: Lost Memories follows Atsushi, a young samurai on a quest to retrieve the rare Raiketsu herb to save his ailing father. What begins as a noble mission soon spirals into a layered journey of betrayal, fractured identity, and hard truths, culminating in a deadly tournament hosted by the enigmatic Lord Hisashi. As Atsushi battles rival warriors, he’s forced to reckon with loss, memory, and the murky boundaries between duty and destiny.
The game unfolds across three narrative acts and introduces a hybrid battle system where turn-based combat meet real-time QTEs. Players won’t rely on stats or leveling systems, instead, survival hinges on timing, reflexes, and reading your opponent’s intent. Each enemy presents unique patterns, and environments range from peaceful shrines to thunderous arenas. For veterans looking for more, Gauntlet Mode offers an intense endurance challenge with leaderboard support.
