Looking at the image below, are you not as fascinated as I am by what you see? The title in question is Queen Slayer, an intriguing party-based RPG with Roguelite elements currently in development by the indie studio Dokkaebi Games. This studio, as far as I can tell, seems to be Chinese and has previously worked on several mobile titles.
It’s worth noting that the project is still in a very early stage, and without any gameplay videos, I still felt compelled to introduce the title on my pages. Firstly, because I am impulsive, and the title captured my attention just from the few screenshots available. Secondly, I know many others will appreciate it just as much.
In Queen Slayer, players lead a brave expedition into the depths of a labyrinthine underground realm. After a cataclysm ravaged the surface, humanity was forced to retreat below, where remnants of past civilizations and wild nature merge into a perilous environment filled with enigmatic energies. Each subterranean zone is governed by a formidable queen whose defeat is crucial to restoring peace and hope to the world. As the expedition leader, your mission is to vanquish these eight queens, uncovering powerful weapons and artifacts, while navigating treacherous terrains and engaging in fierce battles alongside your companions.
Queen Slayer features party-based, turn-based combat, allowing players to recruit up to four heroes with unique professions and skills, creating dynamic synergies to overcome the monstrous queens and their minions. The game incorporates roguelite elements, where each journey resets hero traits but retains their unique characteristics. Risk-taking is rewarded with greater treasures, though fallen heroes are lost forever, adding a layer of strategic depth. We can expect to put our hands on Queen Slayer during Q2 2025 on PC via Steam; below is an overview and screens.
