In Seen NOT Heard, the monsters may know more about the heroine’s past than she does. Developed and self-published by Odd Indeed, this hand-drawn, turn-based RPG follows a young girl trying to recover her memories while exploring how trauma has affected her family. It is coming to PC, with a release date still to be announced.

Her name is Melia, and she wakes from a nightmare to find her mouth sewn shut. Unable to remember what happened, she searches for answers among the strange creatures roaming the kingdom.
Ending their suffering may help her recover fragments of her past. She can interact with the kingdom’s residents, some of whom react to her appearance, but she cannot speak to them.

The full adventure spans 10 areas, each with its own history, secrets, and monsters. Battles use a turn-based system, while party development involves choosing companions, upgrading them, and crafting equipment.
Odd Indeed highlights character synergies as something to discover through experimentation. For those interested in party-building, how those abilities work together is one of the main things to investigate in the demo.

The companions introduced so far bring some humor into that uncomfortable setting. Anselin is a rebellious herbalist with ambitions of changing the world, armed with a sickle and gardening tools.
Nalya, an archer, has a habit of saying exactly what she thinks. Then there is Hassan, a pyromancer and emperor’s son whose commitment to proper behavior becomes a problem whenever a situation demands something less formal.
The visual direction takes inspiration from traditional sketches and watercolor paintings, with visible brushwork and textured paper.

Jean-Pascal Vielfaure, whose previous work includes the Uncle Albert series, composed the soundtrack around the hang drum. That gentle presentation is an interesting choice for a story with such a disturbing opening, suggesting an atmosphere that is not defined entirely by its darker themes.
A Steam demo released a few hours ago covers the complete prologue, introducing Melia and Anselin through exploration, combat, and illustrated dialogue.
It includes two areas and two bosses. Demo saves will carry over to the full game, so there will be no need to repeat the prologue at launch.
