Announced through their social channels, Roach Games, the developers of one of the most intriguing JRPG-inspired titles I’ve been following for quite some time, have finally revealed Kingdoms of the Dump release window.

Designed in the style of Super Nintendo-era role-playing games, the project is the work of two full-time janitors who first imagined a fantasy world built entirely around garbage.
Players take on the role of Dustin Binsley, the Trash Can Knight, as he journeys through the five-and-a-half Kingdoms of the Dump to battle the toxic grimelin army and prevent a war that threatens the entire land.

The game combines traditional turn-based systems with a few twists. Battles unfold on a grid and rely on timed hits, while exploration incorporates platforming elements such as jumping and elevation.
Characters can be swapped on the field to make use of unique abilities like climbing, bubbling, or using a gun, giving each party member a distinct role both in and out of combat.

Players can traverse a large Mode 7-inspired world map, uncover secrets, and face a wide range of themed environments and bosses. The developers note that the project, which began as a passion effort, was made possible thanks to community support and crowdfunding backers.
Kingdoms of the Dump is scheduled to launch on PC via Steam in November. We will wait for more details and maybe a playable demo. Below is the release window trailer.
