Stellar Freight Overview

The developer Satellite235 and publisher Two Cakes Studio announced Stellar Freight: Endless Horizon, a space-trucking roguelite RPG where players are able to haul cargo through a galaxy that is literally falling apart.

Stellar Freight Roguelite

As the name suggests, Stellar Freight: Endless Horizon is a science fiction version of the classic “space trucker” concept. In Stellar Freight: Endless Horizon, players are able to take control of a freight ship, deliver cargo throughout a galaxy full of danger, and deal with the consequences of a broken galaxy due to an alien threat that has destroyed what little balance existed before.

Each day in space is represented by a single turn in the game. This creates a roguelike loop based on the player making random choices while encountering random events, choosing routes, and dealing with constant consequences.

Stellar Freight Overview

Outside of the roguelike loop, Stellar Freight: Endless Horizon also includes a tactical battle system. In these battles, players can target specific systems of their opponent’s ships to gain an advantage in the battle.

However, outside of battles, the other side of managing a freight ship (and its crew) is equally as important. Players are able to upgrade various aspects of their ship, including hulls, weapons, shields, and cargo capacity.

Stellar Freight Crew

Additionally, players are able to recruit and develop a crew with different roles, including Commanders, Navigators, and Engineers. Each role provides benefits to the player in terms of survival, efficiency, and/or combat performance. The player must manage the costs of maintaining the crew, trading in loot, accepting contracts, etc.

Each region of the galaxy has a unique storyline with branches in decision-making, and in some cases, those decisions can change entire areas of the galaxy and provide the player with access to new options.

Combat system

The official announcement came with the Steam page being published, so people can wishlist and wait for the release, which will happen sometime in 2026. Below the announcement trailer.
