Sting, the Japanese developer known for quirky and genre-blending RPGs like the Dokapon series and Yggdra Union, is back with a brand-new title: VIractal: World of Viractalia. This imaginative, board game-style RPG will enter Steam Early Access soon, blending dice-based movement, deck-building strategy, and procedural map exploration into a solo or co-op adventure where no two playthroughs are the same.

In VIractal, players awaken in a strange, fog-shrouded room with a lone board game at its center. From there, they’re whisked into the miniature world of Viractalia—a dynamic setting that changes with each roll of the dice and every decision made. While movement is determined by dice rolls, a clever twist allows unused movement points to be converted into Dice Points, a special resource that can alter events or give you a tactical edge in battle.
At its core, the game features card-based combat. Players build their own decks before entering combat, combining cards into powerful synergies to take down a variety of enemies. As you progress through procedurally generated maps, you’ll encounter narrative events, branching choices, and mysterious NPCs that can affect your fate and story progression. VIractal supports multiple co-op modes including LAN, shared screen, and Steam’s Remote Play Together and Sting hints at hidden online-only surprises that may emerge during multiplayer runs.
Launching as an Early Access title, VIractal will initially include several base stages, unlockable features, and a collectible system to track progress. The full version is expected to introduce new characters, cards, monsters, stages, and expanded multiplayer content. The developers aim to stay in Early Access for about 6–12 months.
A playable demo is set to drop on May 12, giving a hands-on preview of this evolving RPG. You can follow the game or wishlist it now on Steam. Below is an overview, screens, and trailer.
