For sure, the new game announced by Sanctuary Games has style. It’s called Zanerdin: The Unbound, and is a collectible turn-based strategy RPG in development for PC via Steam, plus PlayStation 5. The studio has not shared a release date, a release window, or pricing yet, and the Steam page currently lists the game as “Coming soon.” Below, I’ve collected some details.

Zanerdin: The Unbound uses gacha style collection while promising no in-game purchases. Sanctuary Games says the gacha is included in the purchase price, and that all collectible characters, pets, plus gear in the base game are earned through gameplay progression.

The announcement also frames this as “progression without paywalls,” with players clearing content to earn the materials and currency used to pull and rank up gear.

The setting is Kalatos, a fantasy world built around six elemental “Blessings.” Those elements are Water, Fire, Earth, Metal, Wind, and Electric, and the pitch ties them to both combat power and social standing. At the center of the world sits the Chaos region, where people are born without any Blessing, and the story follows Zanerdin as he heads into the Blessed lands to dig into his family’s past.

The game is planned to ship with 60 battle stages, with story beats delivered through hand-drawn narrative cutscenes. The playable roster is listed as 25 plus characters, plus 10 pets. It focuses on boss fights and loot, calling out 12 boss raids and 100-plus gear items, with gear positioned as a core part of pushing a team’s ceiling.

Combat details are still light, but the studio has outlined the team-building structure. Each hero ties into an elemental Blessing plus a battlefield “Position,” and Sanctuary Games references “Theme” and “Synergy” systems that are meant to shape comps and formations.

Endgame is currently described as a five-versus-five tournament mode against AI-controlled opponents. Winning that tournament unlocks a post-game “Hardcore” battle stage. It has also already committed to post launch support through downloadable content, with additional story content and playable characters planned as DLC.

For now, Zanerdin: The Unbound is wish-listable on Steam, while Sanctuary Games keeps dates and pricing under wraps.
