The Switch was practically made for turn-based RPGs, and by now there’s an extensive library that’s enough to sate even the most avid gamer.
Even better, while sales tend to be less frequent than on other platforms, they last a lot longer, giving you a chance to save a few extra bucks or wait for that next paycheck without missing out.
I’ve found ten great deals on turn-based RPGs this week, and all but one have a while left before they expire. Check them out below; I’m sure you’ll find a new adventure to engross yourself in!
Wander stars

How you build each move determines its effects as well as its cooldowns, so the more you expand your vocabulary across this ten-episode adventure, the more options you’ll have during its high-powered martial arts showdowns.
The Switch version of Wander Stars is 50% off until 12 June, giving you a nice long window to pick it up for $12.49, as opposed to its usual price of $24.99.
Terra Memoria

The Deluxe Edition of Terra Memoria is 55% off on the Switch until 7 June, taking its price form $24.99 down to $11.24. Jack Move

Jack Move blends punchy JRPG adventure with a cyberpunk aesthetic, putting you in the shoes of Noa, a skilled hacker investigating her father’s disappearance. During turn-based cyberbattles, you can essentially change classes on the fly by loading new programs into your deck, adapting to the situation at hand.
You can get the Switch version of Jack Move for just $2.39 until 12 June, a stellar 88% discount off its $19.99 price tag. You’re unlikely to find the game at a better price than this, so if you’ve been meaning to pick this one up be sure to seize the opportunity while it’s available!
Light Fairytale Episode 1 & 2

Light Fairytale is an ongoing, episodic JRPG whose third entry recently launched into early access on PC. As Haru, you’ll explore an underground world in a tale that rekindles the magic of PS1-era games. The individual episodes are fairly short, so it’s a good idea to play them both in sequence for the full experience.
Normally each episode is $9.99 on the Switch, but until 20 June you can get them for $2.49 each; that’s just $4.98 for the duo, a 75% savings! The third episode likely won’t come to consoles until after it’s out of early access, but from everything we’ve seen it will be worth the wait.
Disco Elysium

This weird and wonderful detective RPG has made a big name for itself over the last several years.
Disco Elysium is known for its limitless sense of freedom and smart take on traditional RPG conventions. It’s a game that’s tough to describe but easy to recommend, and it belongs in every RPG fan’s library as an example of what games are capable of.
Disco Elysium is also great on the go, making the Switch version an enticing option. As it happens, you can get it on the Switch for 70% off until 11 June, taking the price from $39.99 to just $11.99. Best of all, that’s for the Final Cut, the definitive edition of this unbelievable game.
Cardaclysm: Shards of the Four

While it’s not an exact match, Cardaclysm feels a bit like Shandalar, the old Magic: The Gathering PC game from the ’90s.
As a wizard who’s accidentally unleashed the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, you’ll wander a procedurally-generated world, developing your deck of creatures and spells as you go and battling foes while trying to undo the damage you’ve caused. With multiple biomes and factions, not to mention challenging bosses that upend the game, there’s plenty of challenge to be had here.
Best of all, Cardaclysm is available on the Switch for just $2.99 until 5 June, letting you save 80% off its standard price of $14.99.
Shardpunk

Shardpunk only recently came to the Switch, and it’s a great choice for the portable console. Leading a crew of survivors in an overrun city, you’ll have to stay one step ahead of a swarm of evil rats, scavenging what you can and getting as many of your team to safety as you can. Think a turn-based, pixelated Left 4 Dead meets Vermintide and you’ve got the right idea.
If that sounds like your kind of game, you can get the Switch version of Shardpunk at 20% off until 26 May, starting your adventure for $13.59 rather than the usual $16.99.
Bearnard

This smart, indie puzzle platformer combines physics with turn-based battles as you take the role of master archer Bearnard.
The game is all about pulling of trick shots – ricochets, dropping chandeliers, and so on – but you’ll also need to manage your deck of cards. If you miss your shot, the card is wasted!
The Switch version of Bearnard is just $5.99 until 1 June, a 60% savings off its standard price of $14.99. The discount doesn’t apply to the Deluxe Edition, though, so if you were hoping to score the soundtrack as well you’ll have to pay the full price.
Dragon Ruins

Delve the dungeon with your band of four adventurers and slay the dragon – it doesn’t get more classic than that! Dragon Ruins has the vibe of an old-school dungeon crawler, but plays like a modern autobattler. Your foes will continue to get stronger as you proceed, so you need to keep pace with them to have any hope of overcoming the final challenge.
You can get Dragon Ruins for the Switch at 30% off until 4 June, taking its price from the already-reasonable $8.99 to an even-better $6.29. There’s also a sequel with even more foes to slay, but it’s not currently on sale.
Nadir

This grimdark deckbuilder lets you descend into the bowels of Hell, fighting demons centered around the Deadly Sins. Each card offers two options, red and blue, giving you plenty of choices in combat, but leaning too much toward one side or the other will give your opponent buffs. The game becomes a tough balancing act that’s deliciously difficult – if you’re up for a challenge, give this one a try.
