Echo Generation 2

Echo Generation 2 shifts from small-town supernatural to mind-bending cosmic noir, available now on Steam and Xbox.

Echo Generation 2 is now available, with Cococucumber launching its sci-fi deckbuilding RPG on PC via Steam, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud, and Xbox Game Pass.

Echo Generation 2

The sequel moves the Echo Generation universe away from its small-town supernatural roots and into a stranger cosmic mystery, while keeping the studio’s voxel style and turn-based structure at the center.

This time, players step into the past as Jack, the father of the original game’s protagonists. What starts as a family vacation soon turns into a story about hidden experiments, impossible realities, and a growing cosmic threat.

The campaign is told across multiple perspectives, with chapters shifting between different heroes, tones, and worlds, from noir horror to neon-lit cyberpunk.

Combat has also changed in a major way. Echo Generation 2 uses a turn-based deckbuilding system built around six playable heroes, each with their own cards, abilities, and playstyle.

Players form a party of three, build around team synergies, improve characters through skill trees and badge upgrades, and use a stance system where matching symbols can break enemy defenses and open the way for stronger combos.

The game keeps Cococucumber’s retro 3D pixel look, backed by an 80s-inspired synth soundtrack from Pusher.

For fans of the first Echo Generation, this sequel looks like a broader and more systems-heavy follow-up, with deck construction, party composition, and combat timing playing a much larger role in how each encounter unfolds. Below is the launch trailer.
