Mana Relic Games seeks €15,000 for its pixel-art adventure, promising modern quality-of-life updates to classic mechanics.
Mana Relic Games has revealed Llewl and the Lyre of Two Worlds, a retro-inspired RPG built around pixel art, turn-based combat, and a character-driven story shaped by 1990s JRPGs.

The game is now tied to a Kickstarter campaign, with the Irish indie developer aiming to raise €15,000 to support continued production. The Steam page lists the release date as still to be announced.
The story follows Sarah, a young Guardian trained to protect Llewl, a mysterious elf girl caught in a world of magic, secrets, and danger.
Mana Relic Games frames the adventure around duty, friendship, love, and the kind of emotional fantasy storytelling that defined many console RPGs from the Super Nintendo and Game Boy Advance eras.

The developer cites games such as Final Fantasy V, Secret of Mana, and Golden Sun as key inspirations, but Llewl and the Lyre of Two Worlds is not leaning only on nostalgia. Its pitch focuses on classic structure with modern quality-of-life thinking, from exploration tools to reactive world design.
Combat uses a grid-based turn system built around two 4×4 battle spaces, with armor mechanics and tiered status effects adding more tactical weight than a basic menu-driven encounter system.

Llewl and the Lyre of Two Worlds includes puzzle-driven exploration with swimming, jumping, climbing, pushing, spellcasting, and hammer-based interaction.
Some puzzles are described as having one clear solution, while others can be handled in different ways with a world that reacts to events, with NPCs and locations changing as the story moves forward.
Mana Relic Games is also building several side systems around the main adventure. Players can take part in minigames, build up a town, and collect cards for an in-world game called Lane Battle Legends.

The developer’s goal seems clear: create something that feels personal and handmade, without losing the comfortable loop of exploring, fighting, collecting, and slowly uncovering a larger fantasy plot.
The Kickstarter campaign includes digital copies of the game at €12 during the first 24 hours, followed by €15 afterward. Higher pledge tiers include exclusive content and chances for backers to contribute creatively to the project. One of the campaign’s biggest stretch goals is the potential involvement of Hiroki Kikuta, the composer best known for his work on Secret of Mana and Seiken Densetsu 3.
Llewl and the Lyre of Two Worlds is currently available to wishlist on Steam. A final release date has not been announced yet. Below the announcement teaser trailer.
