Some of the most interesting RPGs and strategy games on my wishlist are now heavily discounted
The holidays are coming up, and we’re all looking to save a bit of money so we can get gifts for our friends and family. That doesn’t mean we can’t squeeze in an extra turn-based treat for ourselves as well, though!
Some of my favorite RPGs and strategy games are on sale right now at prices they’ve never been, but they won’t be discounted for long, so I decided to highlight some of them.

Jack Move

Jack Move is a real treat for cyberpunk fans. It’s got all the classic tropes, from evil megacorporations to street gangs and more, all presented in colorful pixel graphics. It’s also a convenient 7 to 10 hours long, making it a great fit for your busy end-of-the-year schedule.
While this JRPG adventure usually goes for $19.99, it’s 70% off on Steam until 24 November. That means you can get it for just $5.99, or get it bundled along with Black Book (see below) and save 67% off both games!
Trials of Fire

Trials of Fire blends deckbuilding with hex-grid tactical combat, so positioning and planning matter just as much as optimizing your deck.
You’ll command a party of three heroes chosen from a pool of nine, and each brings their own cards. Combined with the hundreds of possible encounters to find, items to acquire, and skills to learn, Trials of Fire offers plenty of replay value.
It’s an even better deal at 66% off, letting you get Trials of Fire for just $6.79 until 21 November (it’s normally $19.99). Alternatively, you can get the Inferno Edition for $13.40, which includes the soundtrack and digital artbook as well.
Black Book

With its eerie visuals and story steeped in Slavic folklore, Black Book is an eye-catching dark fantasy adventure. As Vasilisa, you’ll use witchcraft to summon imps and combat demons in card-based battles in a quest to resurrect your dead fiancé.
Until 24 November, Black Book is 65% off its usual price of $24.99, letting you start your occult journey for just $8.74. You can also get the Deluxe Edition for $12.58, which includes the Endless Battles DLC, an optional mode that lets you enjoy the battle system as a mini-roguelike deckbuilder.
Cassette Beasts

Monster catchers, this one’s for you. If you’ve finished with Z-A and can’t get enough of training a collection of critters, you definitely don’t want to miss out on Cassette Beasts. Not only will you build your stable of unique monsters, but you can freely combine two beasts to create custom forms for battle!
Cassette Beasts is 60% off on Steam until 27 November, letting you snag this $19.99 title for just $7.99. If you want an extra adventure and some bonus cosmetics to boot, the New Wirral Edition bundle includes all the DLC and is currently $16.27 – that’s less than the base cost of the main game, if you act now.
Age of Wonders 4

If 4X games are your jam, Age of Wonders 4 is a must-have in your collection. With customizable factions that get more options with each new update and DLC, it’s a gorgeous fantasy sandbox. It also allows you to take command of uncommonly large tactical battles for the genre, adding a level of depth that you don’t always see in a 4X.
Age of Wonders 4 has just come off of a free weekend, and while the base game is usually $49.99, you can get it on Steam for 50% off until 26 November.
This is a Paradox-published title, though, so there’s lots of DLC – if you’re going to take the plunge, you might want to consider the Premium Edition, which would get you all of the existing content for $58.49, just a little more than the base game’s normal price.
WorLdless

It feels like just yesterday the whole world was talking about Silksong. The only thing it was missing, of course, was turn-based combat! Worldless is an enchanting Metroidvania with turn-based battles and real-time action, letting you test your skills on both fronts.
Not only does Worldless have a free demo that you can try anytime, but it’s also 50% off on Steam until 22 November. That means you can get this $19.99 game for just $9.99, or get the Deluxe Edition bundle with the soundtrack for $13.48.
Krzyżacy – The Knights of the Cross

Based on a historical novel about a medieval knightly order, The Knights of the Cross is a unique blend of deck building and classic Romance of the Three Kingdoms-style strategy. With over 30 heroes to recruit and build bonds with and multiple endings, it’s got loads of replay value as well.
Krzyzacy is usually just $15.99, but until 30 November it’s half off on Steam, putting it at a very reasonable $7.99. It also has a free “Western Style” character pack DLC that’s more serious in tone than the base set, in case fanservicey anime characters take you out of the historical immersion.
Anoxia Station

If you’re up for a challenge, Anoxia Station will test your management and puzzling skills as you build a subterranean mining station in the depths of the Earth. The surface is covered in volcanic ash, and there are terrifying creatures sharing the caves with you, so the only thing standing between your crew and a horrible death is you and your choices.
Anoxia Station is still relatively new, having released this spring, and it’s pretty affordable to begin with at just $14.99. However, it’s 45% off on Steam until 20 November, letting you get it for just $8.24 if you act now. You can also get it as part of the Strategy Gems bundle with the (not turn-based) ancient Rome city-builder Citadelum and let your inner Augustus shine.
FRONT MISSION 2: Remake

The Front Mission franchise is a long-running series that tells the story of a world in constant conflict, where powerful mechs called Wanzers dominate the battlefield. Each game is a self-contained story within the greater chronology, so while it’s all part of the big picture, you can jump in anywhere. In Front Mission 2: Remake, you’ll lead a mech army as a coup plunges the world into chaos and blurs the lines of morality.
You can try the demo for free, and if you like Front Mission 2: Remake it’s 50% off on Steam until 24 November. That takes it down to $17.49 from $34.99. It’s also available bundled with Front Mission 1st: Remake, letting you get the duology for just $23.50 during the sale period.
For The King II

The original For The King was great fun, especially in multiplayer co-op, and the sequel is everything its predecessor was and more.
This tabletop-inspired tactical roguelite sees you and your friends set out on a journey to stop a tyrannical queen in story mode or dive into an infinite dungeon, trusting in your skills, teamwork, and a bit of luck.
For The King II free to try until 24 November on Steam, and buying the game permanently is 60% off (down to $9.99 from $24.99) until 1 December, so this is one of the best times to gather your party and set out for adventure.
The original For The King is also 80% off, and you can get the two games bundled together for just $12.58.
