To wrap up the year, I shared the Indie Showcase, which is essentially the video version of the article published a few days ago. It highlights 15 truly intriguing indie RPGs that I hope to see in 2025.
As 2024 ends, it’s clear this year has been exceptional for turn-based games. From exciting new releases to major announcements, the genre has delivered on all fronts. To mark the occasion, I’ve put together a list of 15 promising RPGs featured in the final episode of the Indie Showcase series. Highlights include Blightstone, a dark fantasy roguelite where survival depends on strategic choices, and Solasta II, a sequel expanding its SRD 5e-inspired gameplay with the unexplored continent of Neokos.
Other notable entries are Legends of Awen: Rise of the Fianna, a Celtic-inspired RPG with a choice-driven story, and Chains of Freedom, a tactical RPG set in post-apocalyptic Eastern Europe. Strategy fans will enjoy Liegecraft, blending grand strategy with personal drama, and NITRO GEN OMEGA, featuring cinematic mech battles with timeline-based combat. Titles like Inkshade, with its surreal world and tactical depth, and Eldritch Tactics: Lichtmond, inspired by Germanic folklore, and more. Below is the video version.
