New RPG Releases

I’ve mentioned these games a few times before, even including them in some of my lists, but just a few days ago, we finally got exact release dates. And guess what? They’re joining the already stacked lineup of November releases. So, which games am I talking about?

First up is an RPG that initially appears to follow the roguelite formula, but in reality, it’s a story-driven experience that promises multiple story paths based on player choices throughout the adventure. This title, VED, takes place across two contrasting worlds: one grounded in reality, the other a fantastical realm composed of floating islands. Here, the protagonist, Cyrus, must navigate these strange lands, learn to coexist with the inhabitants and uncover the mystery connecting the two worlds.

The combat system is presented from an over-the-shoulder perspective, allowing players to maneuver Cyrus left and right, utilizing a variety of skills. Beyond combat, VED also incorporates village-building mechanics, as well as various factions with whom players can interact and align. This unique blend makes VED a title to keep on your radar, with its debut set for November 14 on PC via Steam, as well as on PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. Plus, the prologue has just been released, giving players a taste of the game’s core mechanics.

The second title is a tactical strategy game in the vein of XCOM, but set during World War II. In Forgotten But Unbroken, players step into the role of resistance fighters battling against Axis forces. This game promises a high level of realism in its combat system, incorporating variable weather conditions that affect battlefield dynamics, as well as soldiers’ psychological states, potential illnesses, and more.

Like XCOM, this game also features a base management system where players can upgrade various facilities for strategic advantages. There’s also a diplomatic angle, where securing support during the campaign becomes crucial. I’ve been following Forgotten But Unbroken closely through development, and it’s come a long way. A demo is already available on Steam, with the full release scheduled for November 18.
