Last Spartan: Glory Over Madness

This is Turn-Based Sparta!!

Today, I’m introducing a title that inevitably reminded me of Darkest Dungeon due to its dark plots and in-game mechanics. It’s called Last Spartan: Glory Over Madness, a highly promising dice-based roguelite that puts players in the shoes of a daring Spartan wandering ancient Greece, facing Lovecraftian horrors and attempting to restore its town.

Last Spartan: Glory Over Madness

This stylish and captivating title is developed by the German indie studio Bad Spiele Studio, led by CEO Ankit Kumar Dhillon, who has years of experience in video game development, Qu Honkai as the artistic director, and Laura Ketzler as the Interactive Web Experience Developer/Operations, with additional team members to be announced.

In Last Spartan: Glory Over Madness, players delve into a deck-building roguelite experience set within a dark, randomly generated world. As the last Spartan, players will engage in turn-based battles using a customizable dice set, fighting to maintain their sanity against Lovecraftian horrors. The game’s story-driven campaign immerses players in a rich narrative where each playthrough offers fresh encounters with unique enemies, NPCs, and artifacts, ensuring that no two runs are the same. What intrigues me the most is the blend of Greek mythology and Lovecraftian elements, which create a unique backdrop for players quest to conquer madness.

Last Spartan: Glory Over Madness invites players to explore a 2.5D rendition of Greece, making strategic decisions that influence their journey. Ten Greek gods to align with, each providing distinct abilities that shape the playstyle. The game also features an extensive collection of enemies, encounters, and artifacts, offering endless replayability. It’s definitely a title I’ll keep following, and you should at least add it to your wishlist. The release is expected in 2024 on PC via Steam. Below are some more details, screenshots, and the trailer.
