Do you want to learn more about Fortnite, DOTA, and Roblox hacks? Are you interested in finding out what has made eSports as big as it is today? Does the gaming world interest you in any way? If so, you are in the right place.

Keep reading to learn some of the most interesting facts about eSports and gaming that you may not have been aware of.

1. eSports Gaming Revenue Exceeded $3.5 Billion in 2020

The world of competitive gaming is massive. This means quite a bit of money is changing hands. This includes gamers, gaming companies, and sponsors.

At the end of 2020, the total market value of eSports doubled the 2016 figures. Today, Asia still holds the biggest part of this industry, with growth attributed to increased participation and integration with Twitch and other popular streaming platforms, not to mention the huge cash prizes up for grabs.

2. Any Game Where Players Compete Is Considered an eSports Game

Unlike the MLB or NFL, where the athletes only play one game with specific rules, those who participate in eSports will participate in many different types of games. Some examples include:

·        MOBA – Multiplayer online battle arena games: Include DOTA 2 and League of Legends

·        FPS – First-person shooter games: Include Halo, Call of Duty, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

·        Strategy games: Include Hearthstone and StarCraft II

Every category and type of eSports game is as lucrative as the others. The tournaments draw all types of viewers and provide many prizes.

3. Traditional Athletes and eSports Players Are Similar

While eSports players aren’t using physical strength and prowess to compete, they are more like traditional athletes than some people think. Like baseball and football players, eSports players spend multiple hours per day practicing their skills and abilities alone and in the team setting. They even watch footage of games played by their upcoming opponents to help develop new strategies and methods to beat them in upcoming tournaments.

With so many tournaments held across the globe, top players often follow non-stop schedules that require them to travel regularly, just like traditional athletes.

Along with training like traditional athletes, professional gamers may also suffer injuries. Some of the top names in eSports have had to retire recently due to issues like nerve-tingling neck pain, trigger finger, tennis elbow, and carpal tunnel syndrome. The attention that these injuries received in the past was non-existent. Still, today, broadcasters are beginning to see the huge impact it can have on an eSports player’s ability to compete.
