Broken Lines

Broken Lines, the narrative-driven tactical RPG set in the darkest hours of WWII from developer PortaPlay and publisher Blowfish Studios, escapes enemy territory and seeks salvation on PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One today.

Crash-land behind enemy lines in an alternate-history World War II and lead a small, rag-tag squad of soldiers through a perilous and mysterious land. In these trying times, each serviceman has their own set of morals and ideals that are challenged while experiencing the war. Keep the band of brothers together as they progress across hostile territory in search of rescue or escape.

Sneak past platoons of opposing troops or engage in firefights against combative foes. Decisions made in battle impact the story’s non-linear plot and lead the band of misfits down an array of treacherous paths. Strategically guide troops into optimal positions to gain tactical superiority in grid-less, turn-based combat.

Plan each turn by giving move orders, scout advantageous locations, use cover, revive fallen soldiers and manually aim special weapons, then watch as the plan plays out in real-time. Utilize abilities and distinct character skills, like suppressive fire or aimed penetrating shots for higher accuracy and damage, all while keeping spirits, morale and health high.

Explore painterly landscapes inspired by the rural Romanian countryside, capitalizing on the bevy of creative opportunities the terrain allows. March through thick, atmospheric fog, invading the space of abandoned factories, haunting cemeteries, and hostile military camps across eastern Europe. Collect precious loot to replenish resources and buy weapons, and attempt escape with minimal casualties, all set to a regionally-inspired atmospheric soundtrack.

“We are passionate gamers who aim to raise the bar in regard to mature themes and topics in our favorite medium, and Broken Lines embodies this spirit perfectly,” said Hans von Knut Skovfoged, Creative Director, PortaPlay. “Expanding to Xbox and PlayStation allows us to broaden our reach to new audiences so they can experience our distinct take on the beloved strategy genre.”

Broken Lines is available for $14.99 USD/€ 12,99. It supports English, French, German, Russian, Spanish – Spain, Polish, Korean and Simplified Chinese.
