Roguelite RPG Dark Quest 4 Is Now Live
Dark Quest 4 launches today on PC and consoles, bringing co-op dungeon runs and a full creator suite to the long-running turn-based series. Brain Seal Entertainment confirmed the release for Steam, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch at a launch price of $19.99.
The fourth entry stays close to its tabletop roots, taking clear inspiration from HeroQuest while leaning into card-driven tactical combat. Players lead a party through 30 handcrafted quests that span multi-floor dungeons filled with traps and more than 40 enemy types.
Encounters are turn-based and built around a deck of abilities, spells, and items, which encourages planning around positioning, status effects, and synergies.
Progression runs through the Hero Camp, where up to 10 distinct heroes can be trained, upgraded, and customized with new cards to expand each build.
The cast covers classic roles, and the card pool lets parties pivot between control, burst damage, mitigation, and utility depending on the quest. The campaign frames the return of the Dark Sorcerer’s influence and puts Gulak and his forces at the center of the threat, with side objectives and risk-reward detours that push parties to explore beyond the critical path.
Dark Quest 4 adds online and local co-op so parties can tackle dungeons together, share loot, and combine hero kits to handle tougher rooms and bosses.
The other major addition is Creator Mode. Here, players step behind the screen to design and publish their own quests, stitch together dungeon layouts, tune enemy mixes, and script encounters for the community. Browser support inside the game makes it easy to play and rate community creations alongside the official content.
